  I was very disappointed with the customer service at DMA upholstery. From what I understand I dealt with the owner my entire experience. He was not pleasant to speak with and very rude. I took my husbands bmw in to have the sun roof replaced due to it being broken while he was driving. Our insurance (GEICO) recommended DMA upholstery and told me they were the only company close by that dealt with sun roof glass. I dropped the vehicle off on Wednesday and was called on Friday to pick it up. I was also told that some glass could not be removed from the tracks of the sun roof and I would have to bring it back to have that completed,which was very strange to me, but I'm no expert. When I arrived to pick up the vehicle, the gentleman asked me to come around into the garage area to back out the vehicle myself. He watched me very closely as I got in the car and backed it out of the garage. This made me very nervous but I didn't think too much of it at the time. I parked the vehicle in our drive way and when my husband got home an hour later he was going to put it in the garage when he noticed a one inch scratch on the back fender and a longer scratch on the door. He asked me about it and said that it was not there when I dropped it off. DMA was closed at this time so I called first thing Monday morning. When the gentleman answered the phone I mentioned the scratches to him and he very quickly got defensive and said they were not done at his shop and that the vehicle was kept in the garage the entire time. I never once blamed him for the scratches, just stated they were there. He then asked if we noticed the scratches on the roof, I said no. He said that those were from the glass breaking and maybe the ones on the side were from that too. At this point I got a little upset because the scratches on the roof should have been reported to myself and insurance being that they were from the sun roof incident. I also was confused as to how the sun roof breaking could cause scratches on the side. And when I questioned it he said well I don't know how your husband noticed a scratch on the side but not the ones on the roof. I then informed him that I would call my insurance company to see what the next step would be. Someone from GEICO came to look at the vehicle and stated the scratches on the side could not have come from the glass breaking. I decided then to take the vehicle else where to get the scratches and glass removed from the tracks of the sun roof. And when I called DMA to let them know that I would not be bringing the vehicle back for the remainder of the repairs the gentleman just said okay and hung up. He never once apologized, offered to look at the vehicle, or called me back to set up a time to have the glass removed from the tracks. I never blamed him for any damage to the vehicle but his defensiveness does not give me any doubt that the scratches weren't done while the vehicle was in his possession. This could have easily been fixed but he chose not to. The scratches can be buffed out and the shop fixing the roof will be doing that for us as well. I would never recommend this business to anyone and I've told GEICO they should consider taking them off they're referred list and they agree.
